Raskal a écritDO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT run defrag on a
mounted filesystem. Indeed, I would run defrag only after booting
from a separate root/boot disk, and after competing two backups.
Of course, I'm paranoid about about just about everything :-)
You're right !
As clearly stated in the fucking doc you have to read, NEVER NEVER run defrag on a mounted linux filesystem (although quite obvious, better warn !).
You should run it from a separated fs.
Defragmentation on windows:
you can defrag from a running windows system, but
much better from a separate windows file system !
And better be paranoid for such operations !
