voici comment mettre une résolution 800x600 sur un eeepc :
1) installer par synaptic le paquet 915resolution sans rien désinstaller
2) remplacer votre xorg par celui-ci (pensez à faire une sauvegarde avant) :

on pourrait avoir aussi du 1024x768 en modifiant cet xorg 😉
aucun probleme avec compiz-fusion

edit : je viens d'essayer le 1024x768 et ca fonctionne mais ca tue les yeux mieux vaut changer la taille de la police
